1. Who we are

Critical & Strategic Metals Hub (criticalstrategicmetals.com) is an informational website about critical and strategic minerals. It is published by the same people who operate EarthRarest (earthrarest.com). For any privacy question, email hello@earthrarest.com or use the contact form.

2. What we collect and why

• Newsletter. If you subscribe we collect your email address and name. The form and sending are provided by Zoho Campaigns (Zoho's EU data centre). We use it to send the newsletter. You can unsubscribe from any email.
• Contact form. Your name, email address, subject and message are collected through our hosting provider's form service (Netlify Forms). We use them to reply to you.
• Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from, and what device they use. It sets cookies. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent first, and analytics storage stays off until they accept. Elsewhere you can decline in the banner. We do not use analytics data for advertising.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider, Netlify, processes technical data such as IP address and requested page to deliver the site and keep it secure.
• Fonts. The site loads its typeface from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google's servers and Google receives your IP address.

3. Links to EarthRarest

Some pages link to EarthRarest, a separate business, for example to request a quote for a metal. These links are labelled. We add campaign parameters (for example utm_source=metalshub) so we can tell which page led to a visit, and we record clicks on those links in analytics. Once you are on earthrarest.com, its own privacy policy applies.

4. Cookies and local storage

Google Analytics sets cookies such as _ga when analytics is permitted. We store your banner choice in your browser's local storage under the name csm-consent. The newsletter form is provided by Zoho and may set its own cookies when you use it.

5. Legal bases

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies: newsletter and analytics rely on your consent; replying to contact messages and keeping the site secure rely on our legitimate interests; you can withdraw consent at any time.

6. How long we keep data

Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact messages are kept as long as needed to answer you and keep a reasonable record. Analytics data is kept for the period set in our analytics account.

7. International transfers

Google, Netlify and Zoho may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required we rely on the safeguards those providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. Email hello@earthrarest.com or use the contact form to exercise these rights.

9. Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and show the date at the top.
